What does Viridian mean?

We are frequently asked this question, which has little to do with providing temporary power, but has everything to do with how we provide it.

The Viridian Design Movement is an aesthetic movement focused on what has become known as Bright Green Environmentalist concepts. Bright Green Environmentalists aim for a society that relies on new technology and improved design to achieve gains in ecological sustainability without reducing the potential for economic growth. The belief that the quality of our lives can actually be improved, even while ecological footprints shrink, is paramount to the Viridian Design Movement.

One of the first things we did after our collaboration was to adopt the name Viridian Power to remind ourselves and everyone else in the industry of our belief that business does not have to be destructive to improve economic growth.

At Viridian Power, we strive to provide the cleanest power solutions for our clients. Whenever possible we utilize clean hydroelectric power; in situations where that’s impossible and generators are required, we utilize only well-maintained units to cut down on carbon emissions. When possible, we also run them on bio-diesel while paying close attention to properly sizing the right unit for the job. We purchase carbon offsets for our events as well as for our day-to-day operations and offer our clients the opportunity to do the same.

We work closely with PACIFIC GREEN, promoting our respect and dedication to the local and global environment. Viridian Power includes sustainability training, education,

and awareness programs to inspire and develop sustainability initiatives throughout our company and in conjuction with PACIFIC GREEN, offer carbon offset programs to our clients and their events.

We believe that cumulatively, the small efforts of many can slow the damage to our environment. To that end we strive to reduce our carbon footprint and lower our generated waste. We believe that this type of environmental responsibility is very similar to the corporate values of many of our clients.
